Blogging – an Enjoyable and Profitable Pursuit

When the Internet was “coming of age”, most people who desired an Internet presence had concerns in regard to the hassle and cost involved in having a website. Whether for fun or profit, to be one of the many who had an Internet presence, having a website was the only way to go back then. Amateur ones were less costly, but somehow lacked appeal.

The blog was conceived to be, in essence, a “website for the poor man” giving you your own place on the Net minus the expense and hassle of getting a website. From one mans blog to another the blog spot became a method for people to relate to one another on the “Web”. It was free even though it was a little drab; but change was coming.

Very soon the humble blog spot was sporting a variety of things like multiple fonts, photographs, and lots of other cool stuff. And before long people could set up personal blogs to state their opinions, discuss issues of general and specific interest, and sell affiliate and other products. A blog was less effort to create compared to a website – and in a short time there were blogs everywhere on every topic you can think of.

Anyone with an Internet connection can start a blog. This includes YOU – even given very little knowledge regarding the Internet. Begin doing it just for entertainment, building your skill level over time.

Locate a blog in which you are interested and drop some comments. This is a good way to “get your feet wet” and learn a few things about blogging. As your skill level improves, start your own blog and I guarantee that you will find a world of entertainment. You can also earn money if that interests you.

You will be more likely to succeed if you’re blogging on a topic of interest to you. So before you launch your blog, ensure that you focus on a subject close to your heart. One man’s hobby for example, can make a wonderful subject for blogging for fun.

You can initially talk about some personal experiences. After a while, you can branch out into news items, forge some friendships, and so many other such things through your blog spot. There are thousands of people who would love to interact with like-minded people You have your fun and you gain immense knowledge at the same time.

When you feel you are ready, you can begin earning some income by monetizing your blog. By now you will have earned some devotees who will broaden your associations.

Perhaps the least demanding pathway is to post Google Adsense or affiliate products on your blog, thereby automating the monetization. If you’d like to go a bit beyond you could start selling e-information products through your blog just as easily. The blog spot that you started for enjoyment could end up earning you some extra spending money at day’s end.
